OpenAI's GPT models, Codex, and Managed Agents are now natively available on AWS, letting enterprises run OpenAI workloads inside their existing cloud infrastructure.
OpenAI has partnered with AWS to make GPT models, Codex, and Managed Agents accessible directly within AWS environments. Enterprise customers can now access these tools without routing data outside their AWS infrastructure, addressing key security and compliance requirements. This extends OpenAI's distribution beyond Azure and its own API, marking a significant channel expansion. Availability appears to be live now, not a preview announcement.
Enterprise developers locked into AWS infra can now call GPT models and Codex without routing tokens outside their cloud boundary. This kills the #1 blocker for OpenAI adoption in regulated industries: data residency. Managed Agents on AWS also means agentic workloads can run with native IAM, VPC, and CloudWatch integration instead of stitched-together middleware.
If you're already using Amazon Bedrock, swap one endpoint call this week to the new OpenAI-on-AWS integration and benchmark latency vs. your current Claude or Titan setup — the IAM-native auth alone could remove a painful auth layer from your stack.
Log into the AWS Console and navigate to the AI/ML section or search 'OpenAI' in the service search bar to find the new integration
